When we last saw the Berry family, Ross was transitioning from a child to a teen. He's adjusted pretty well so far. Nina and Mitchell discussed retirement, but agreed it's better for Mitchell to keep working until Ross is old enough to work or until he dies, whichever happens first.
Ross occasionally wakes up angry, thanks to the Hot Headed trait. He must have gotten his attitude from Nina.
It's a nice day in Oasis Springs, so they Berry's decided to spend some time eating lunch by the firepit. They love having bonfires, especially on cooler nights, although it doesn't get super cold there.
Mitchell decided he wants to get into business. He watches a lot of TV in his spare time and he learned businessmen (and businesswomen) are very charismatic. He figured he could get ahead if he got a head start on his Charisma skill. That way he can be promoted faster and make more money! All the ladies in the movies Nina watches go for the wealthy businessmen and doctors.
While Ross is practicing his speech (aka building his Charisma skill), Nina painted a new and unique picture. It's always so cool to see what Sims paint.
That same night Mitchell wanted to work on his logic skill by playing a nice game of Chess. It's his favorite game and he loves to play anytime he can.
While Mitchell was playing chess and working on his Logic skill, Nina was teaching Ross how to cook hot/tofu dogs on the grill. She's such a great mom. This is the first time I've ever made Nina a mom and she's great (I've played her in Sims 2, 3 and now 4).
Ross is a pretty messy cook apparently. Nina told him to clean it before dinner so he wouldn't put it off. She's setting him up for success.
Ross was sad the next day. He got rejected by one of his crushes for a date. Oh well. There are plenty of girls to fill your aspiration, Ross.

Nina and Mitchell share some quality time by the fire. Mitchell was feeling a really uncomfortable (I've tried telling him he shouldn't workout at his age, but Sims just don't listen). He decided to take a shot that will erase all his negative moodlets.
While his parents were spending quality time together, Ross took the opportunity to go to the gym and try to be more fit. You got this, Ross!
Afterward, he went outside to get some skating in. The weather was particularly nice in Oasis Springs, so he wanted to spend a couple hours outside.
That wraps up this trip to Oasis Springs! I plan on resuming the weekly Wednesday posts on Wednesday September 11 at noon eastern time! We still have quite a bit of time until Ross takes over the legacy! Friday we venture back to Strangerville with Harmony and Aldo! I created a separate save to solve the mystery and we're so close!
