Rainbow Legacy Challenge BASE GAME RULES

Back in late 2019 I came up with a new challenge idea: the Rainbow Legacy Challenge. I started a save with it (honestly I'm on like gen 2/3 of it atm) and I really enjoy it so far. So I figured I'd share this fun legacy with the world! I'm working on a Base Game version over on my new YouTube Channel so Simmers who don't have a lot of DLC can do the challenge as well :) tomorrow I'll be posting the rules with DLC. I'll be adding which DLC you need for each generation. If you don't have the necessary DLC for a generation, feel free to switch it with the Base Game edition :)

General Rules:

  • Create ONE Sim (gender doesn’t matter) and make them a young adult

  • Create A Sim stories are not to be used with any Sims in the Legacy, but can be used for townies you create/have created

  • Your Sims can have any skin tone, eye color, hair color, etc. but their overall color scheme must be that of the generation they represent.

  • No using money cheats (except Free Real Estate)

  • Mods and CC are allowed as long as it doesn’t mess with the Sims’ careers, traits or money

  • You may choose whichever branch of that generation’s career you wish

  • All heirs must mate with a game-generated townie (ex. Johnny Zest, Don Lothario, Liberty Lee, Summer Holiday, etc.)

  • Sims can have as many children as they wish, but only one can be heir

  • If you choose to keep the other children in the household, you are able to (but they cannot have kids of their own)

  • Aging for the household must be ON (inactive household aging can be off or on)

  • Sims can live in whatever world/lot they wish

  • Sims can move but only once per generation

  • You may travel to work with your Sim if you have an active career

  • When you complete the generation’s Aspiration, you may choose another of your liking.

  • The main objective for each generation is max their three given skills, their career and finish their aspiration.

  • You may open a retail store, veterinarian office, restaurant, etc. if it goes with that generation’s skills, aspiration or career.

GENERATION 1: PINK
Traits: Good, Romantic, Bookworm (can also use Active in place of Romantic or Bookworm)
Career: Athlete
Skills: Fitness, Logic, Gardening (if you have Spa Day, Wellness can be a bonus)
Aspiration: Fabulously Wealthy
This Sim has always been infatuated with the lifestyles of the rich and famous, and even more so when their parents signed them up for military school as a teen. Their hopeless romantic dreams have stayed with them, but so has a newly found love for fitness and logic. They dream of being a Professional Athlete/Bodybuilder with a huge mansion and hope their legacy will live on forever.

GENERATION 2: RED
Traits: Foodie, Cheerful, Materialistic
Career: Culinary
Skills: Baking, Cooking, Gourmet Cooking
Aspiration: Master Chef
This Sim has always loved food. They love everything about it, from the wild plants they see growing in the bushes to the exquisite dishes they see on TV. They want to learn as much about food as they possibly can, then maybe more. They also want to fulfill their parent’s dream of having the largest and most expensive house Sims have ever seen. They hope to pass the Goth and Landgraab families in terms of wealth and property value.

GENERATION 3: ORANGE

Traits: Genius, Unflirty, Outgoing

Career: Astronaut

Skills: Logic, Rocket Science, Handiness

Aspiration: Nerd Brain

Ever since this Sim watched a Solar Eclipse as a kid, they wanted to explore space. They love anything scientific and galaxy-themed and want to show the world what is truly out there. Romance and furthering the family legacy took the back burner until it was almost too late to have kids. Even well advanced in age, this Sim becomes the greatest Astronaut and parent the world has seen.

GENERATION 4: YELLOW (having a spouse in the Secret Agent (or Detective if you have Get to Work-career would be great in this generation!)

Traits: Evil, Ambitious, Glutton

Career: Criminal

Skills: Mischief

Aspiration: Enemy of the World

This Sim’s parents were far too career oriented to pay even the slightest bit of attention to them unless it was a dire emergency. This Sim is borderline obsessed with how the greatest crimes were committed and hope to be alongside those who are wanted but never captured. At least they hope to never be captured. When they fall in love with someone on the other side of the law, things could potentially change.

Generation 5: GREEN

Traits: Geek, Self Assured, Kleptomaniac

Career: Tech Guru

Skills: Video Games, Charisma, Mischief

Aspiration: Nerd Brain

This Sim has been a gamer since they could hold a tablet. Their ultimate dream is to develop the next great game, however their mischievous side always got in the way of their goals to create a peaceful, calming game. But when their mischievous and geeky sides collide, the best things happen to them. Will they create the next big game franchise or become the best E-Sports player the world will ever know? The choice is yours!

Generation 6: TEAL

Traits: Creative, Art Lover, Clumsy

Career: Writer

Skills: Writing, Painting, Mixology

Aspiration:

This Sim has always seen the world from an artist's perspective. They are full of stories about anything from the trees to the snow and even the wild plants that pop up. Whether they're true or not is up to the Sim that they're talking to. Between their painting and writing skills, they hope to make a name for themselves by being a one Sim show. Their works could easily make the big screen if they would put themselves out there. Their biggest hobby outside of work is making all the coolest drinks and even some original ones too.

Generation 7: BLUE

Traits: Bro, Perfectionist, Active

Career: Secret Agent

Skills: Fitness, Programming, Logic

Aspiration: Successful Lineage

This Sim has always been sickened by their great-grandparent's evil habits. Determined to take as much crime off the streets as they can, they vow to be the best Agent Sims have ever met. When they’re not saving the world or training the next generation of agents, they love perfecting their chess game. Chess has always been a passion of theirs and it shows through the many tournaments they win. Above everything is their family. From a very young age, family has always been their top priority. Having a large and thriving family has always been their goal for life.

Generation 8: PURPLE

Traits: Music Lover, Goofball, Slob

Career: Entertainer

Skills: Comedy, Guitar, Piano

Aspiration: Musical Genius

This Sim has always known how to cheer up Sims who are feeling anything but happy. With their love of the arts, they’re determined to make Sims laugh, cry and everything in between. Any negative feelings they've ever experienced were taken away by just a few minutes of watching their favorite comedy acts and/or artists sing live. Their belief is the arts can cure everything from a bad day to the most unfortunate events.

Generation 9: WHITE

Traits: Gloomy, Self Assured, Ambitious

Career: Business

Skills: Charisma, Programming, Handiness

Aspiration: Mansion Baron

Ever since their childhood best friend got sick and passed away, this Sim has wanted to find a cure for all Sim diseases. They don’t want anyone else to suffer like they had. They want to use their fortune to fund as many non-profits as possible and even start their own. Their business mindset gives them the confidence and skill to get everything they need. Following in their parents’ footsteps in making a difference, this Sim took it one step further and got directly in line to make it happen. The downside of them working so much is their cleanliness is almost rock bottom.

Generation 10: BLACK

Traits: Loves Outdoors, Bookworm, Erratic

Career: Freelancer - Writer Branch

Skills: Writing, Photography, Gardening

Aspiration: Bestselling Author

This Sim has loved writing short stories for as long as they can remember. In school Simlish was always their favorite class because they got to share their stories with the teacher and even the class. They have a thousand characters and a million storylines in their head at all times, and as they’ve gotten older it’s gotten easier to write many different things, such as novels, magazine/newspaper articles, poems, etc. When they aren't looking for the inspiration for their next big project, this Sim loves writing blog posts and things about gardens and everything Gardening related.

2020 Blog Recap and 2021 Goals and Such

Saying 2020 was a hard year is a huge understatement. I hope everyone has been staying safe during this rough year. What is something good that happened this year? I became a Twitch Affiliate in July and a Pura Vida Bracelets Brand Ambassador in November (deets on that are on my Instagram).

Anyway, let's see what happened with our Sims families this year:

CAMILA AND THE KITTIES

At the end of last year, Camila welcomed Kitty into the family. All year we've been working on making Camila's home worth over 350,000 Simoleons. It is hard, but we're getting there. We're currently around 270,000 Simoleons. I think we can get it in 2021 and move on to a new generation. Chester has run away a few times this year, which is just sad. She runs away so often despite being well taken care of. We finally got Annika to invite us over to her house, which is beautiful. I bought Get Together in February, so Camila has been having loads of fun with club friends. Camila got tired of having to take her cats to the vet, so she got a vet table and when Eco Lifestyle came out, she got a recycler, candle making station, and fabricator. Also, one of the biggest things that happened was Kitty had a kitten named Lilly! So now she has Chester and Shadow, who have white fur, Kitty, who has black fur, and Lilly, who has the same fur colors as a tabby.

What's next for them?

After Camila hits the 350,000 mark, she will find a man and settle down. From there we will raise at least one child and either have them travel the worlds or do another Rags to Riches in another world. Suggestions are always welcome!

BATISTA FAMILY

The Batista family had quite the show this year. Cassidy met Dave, got married, and had baby David. The name is a coincidence. I planned on the first gen D male to be named David long before Cassidy met Dave, but it fits pretty well.

Chad met Leilani, got married and are expecting their bundle of joy to come in January. Guesses as to if they're having a girl or boy are welcome! The names will be a secret until the baby is officially born!

What's next for them?

Cassidy and Dave will continue to raise baby David. Hopefully we'll be ready for him and his cousin to take over the family legacy sometime in the middle of 2021. Chad and Leilani will raise their baby, who fortunately won't be much younger than David. Everyone will do their best to reach the top of their careers before they get added to the Batista family cemetery.

BERRY FAMILY

A lot has happened here. Ross got a nice girlfriend, Brooklynn. They had their lovely son Yannick. But he was caught cheating on her with Siobhan Fyres in Windenburg. They adopted a cute cat named Tom. I do want to find a way to keep him around because I enjoy seeing Tom. Let me know if I should keep him alive or have him as a ghost cat when he passes. Ross has been hard at work wooing Sims of all genders and all ages. As he's been getting older, he's gotten much less picky about the Sims he wooes.

What's next for them?

Ross will continue to achieve the Serial Romantic Aspiration and reach the top of the Business career. Who he decides to marry is still on the table, but I am leaning toward Scarlet since he had a crush on her in high school. Yannick will continue to grow up and have an increasing interest in anything related to space and science.

ALDO AND HARMONY

Aldo was a sole Sim for a while. He took some time to mourn Harmony's loss and he decided to avenge her death. He vowed to defeat the Mother Plant and rid Strangerville of its awful curse. I did mention before that I would've liked the mystery to have a bit more closure, but it was fun nonetheless. After he defeated the Mother Plant, he made his way to level 10 of the Military career. He was there for a couple days, then decided to pack his things and move to Evergreen Harbor. Defeating the Mother Plant gave him a new interest in the environment. He saw Port Promise had a pollution problem, so he wanted to help. But before he moved, he brought Harmony along as a ghost. (I added her back to the household as a ghost). Since Harmony has no need decay, she can build skills and such anytime. When he moved to Evergreen Harbor, he joined the Civil Designer career.

What's next for them?

Aldo is well on his way to making Port Promise a green paradise, so there's no telling what he'll do next. He is still wondering what he should do. Maybe we'll have him settle down and find a lady. Or maybe we'll have him finally pursue a relationship with Harmony. I'm just not sure if ghosts can have babies. I know they can woohoo, but I haven't tried anything else. That will be something we do in 2021.

Thank you all so much for your support this year! I love sharing the stories of my Sims for all of you and I appreciate you reading them! If there are any Sims you'd like to see featured in any of my saves, let me know! I'll just need your gallery name, your Sims' names, and which save you want your Sim to be in!

2019 Year In Review...Sims 4 style!

2019 has been in insane year, both good and bad! I really wanted to make a separate post about where each of my Sims saves has gotten over the past 10 1/2 months or so. I can't believe it's been so long since I started this blog. Thank you so much to everyone who has read one or all of my posts. I appreciate every visit to this page and I started it because I wanted to share my Sims' lives and stories with the world!
I also enjoy sharing the homes my Sims live in and the lots they frequently visit. Remember, every Sim and build I make is uploaded on the Sims 4 Gallery. My Gallery name is PhilliesPOPster5, hence the name of this blog! :) I do not use any custom content or mods. I only use what the SimGurus put in each pack. There are some builds where I use the MoveObjects cheat and I always specify which builds use this.

CAMILA MOLINA, SHADOW, CHESTER, KITTY - Brindleton Bay
Camila has come such a long way since February. She went from literally ZERO Simoleons to pushing for a true mansion in beautiful Brindleton Bay! She completed the Fabulously Wealthy aspiration, where she got her home redone when she reached each level of the aspiration. She is now halfway through the Mansion Baron aspiration, where she will continue to build her wealth and her beautiful home.
Along the way she befriended a lot of the neighborhood stray cats, including the lovely Mayor Whiskers. Although the first cat she adopted was Shadow, who came from the Brindleton Bay Animal Shelter. Her best feline friend was Chester, who glitched every time Camila went to adopt her. Fortunately Camila was eventually able to adopt Chester and Chester was able to join the Molina family. She waited a long time until she decided to adopt another cat. About a Sim year went by before Camila decided to adopt Kitty, a black cat who was formerly a stray.
As of now Camila is single, but after she completes the Mansion Baron aspiration, she may settle down and look for a mate. If he has a job, he will be the only one working in the household, but she will continue to make money by painting, selling harvestables, and other methods Camila has used to get where she is now.

BATISTA FAMILY - Newcrest
This is one of my favorite families to play. Alec is in the Gallery under Jordan because that was his original name; I decided to change it when I decided to do the A to Z Legacy Challenge instead of just a legacy. I did cheat a little by finding his wife Jordan on the Gallery because none of the townies really appealed to me. He made his family home on the 50X40 lot in scenic Newcrest and joined the Entertainer career. She was in the Culinary career. Alec retired shortly before he passed away, while Jordan worked until she passed. They had two beautiful children, Bort and Bethany.
Bort was a great toddler and child. He really wanted to get into art like his parents. Alec and Jordan made painting the great Batista pasttime. I decided to switch things up by making every other generation have jobs, so Bort and Bethany did not have career jobs. They made their money by harvesting collectables and painting, just like Camila. Afro, aka Bryanna Crane (if you're familiar with James Turner's Rags to Riches series, she's a major character in that LP), married Bort and was a Detective until she eventually died of old age. They had a beautiful daughter named Cassidy Batista. Bort's younger sister Bethany originally wanted to marry librarian Jeremy, but he was a jerk. So she quickly moved on and fell immediately in love with Ian, the trainer at the gym in Willow Creek. They had a handsome son named Chad. (If you're familiar with HollieBB and her Twitch streams, you'll recognize Chad as sort of a channel meme.)
When Bort, Afro, Bethany and Ian passed away from old age, it was Chad and Cassidy's turn. Cassidy is in the Athletic career, while her cousin Chad is still a teen as of now. When he ages up we shall see what career he enters. So far we have only played with Chad and Cassidy for short time, but we will continue to play them and see how far into the Batista legacy we can get in 2020.

BERRY FAMILY - Oasis Springs
We started the Not So Berry Challenge with Mitchell Berry, a Scientist with a huge mischievous side and lived in Oasis Springs. He had always been a huge fan of warm, dry weather, so that's why he chose Oasis Springs. He fell in love with Nina Caliente, the flirty girl who lived next door with her mother Katrina, sister Dina and friend Don Lothario (if anyone knows Don's relation to the Calientes, please let me know!) They had a handsome son named Ross, who is the heir of the Berry family. Mitchell made it to level 9 of the Scientist career, so he didn't complete the requirements. But rather than quit and try again, I decided to do my best the first time then maybe run through it again trying to perfect everything. But before he passed away, he was able to move to another beautiful home in Oasis Springs. I love the current Berry home because it's larger and I like the layout more than the other one.
When Mitchell and Nina died, it was all up to Ross. This save has taken me so long to play because it's so much different than I normally play. I'll be honest, I've debated quitting this challenge numerous times in the past, but I've been pushing through. I'm glad I haven't quit because Ross is becoming a great Sim to play. He's currently on level 3 in the Business career and he's still a Young Adult.

ALDO JANSEN AND HARMONY RAINIER - Strangerville
When the Strangerville game pack came out in February, I knew I had to have it and add it to my list of saves on the blog. Harmony and Aldo originally started as friends and co-workers who wanted to solve the Strangerville Mystery together. As I started to go through the Mystery, I realized it was difficult if not impossible for two Sims to solve the Mystery. I wish there was a way for two Sims to do it though. That's when Aldo decided to become a bodybuilder rather than solve the mystery.
Unfortunately Harmony was unable to defeat the Mother Plant and she died while fighting it. Aldo gave himself time to mourn, but now he's ready to honor Harmony and defeat the Mother in her memory. Aldo is still going to finish his bodybuilder aspiration, then he's going to defeat the Mother. We shall see what happens because Harmony was so close to finishing it.

WHAT IS NEXT FOR THE SIMS?
For Camila and the kitties, they'll finish the Mansion Baron Aspiration and then work on settling down and finding a man. I've been inspired by James to do a mini Legacy/Rags to Riches with her family. I may try to do one in every world. Keep an eye here and my Twitter to see what Camila's options will be in the future.
Chad and Cassidy plan on getting as far as they can in their careers and find love along the way. I want to try to get them married as young adults because I realize both parents can't die until their oldest child is at least a teen, if not a young adult. I have generation D names picked out, but I won't mention them until the D generation is born. I'm hoping to keep the heirs to a male and a female but I know at least a few will be the same. We shall see how far I get in this. Realistically, I want to get to the E or F generation. I would love to make it to H but I don't think that's realistic for the Batistas.
My goal with Ross is complete the Serial Romantic Aspiration as quickly as possible. He currently has a girlfriend named Brooklynn, who may or may not have his child. I'm still debating between her and Scarlet (his teenage crush). My goal for the Berry family is to get to Generation 5. Remember here are the Not So Berry Rules, and here are the Base Game Rules for those who don't own all the packs like me.
As for Aldo, I want him to work on getting to the top of the Military career. Then he will go to the Athletic Career, while I'm not sure what aspiration he'll have after Strangerville. I eventually want him to get married and have at least one child. I will renovate his home to accommodate for kids and maybe get rid of most if not all the Strangerville things in their basement.

I want to thank you all again for reading my blog in 2019 and I look forward to sharing even more of these Sims' lives in 2020! Have a great and safe New Year! See you tomorrow for the first Camila post of 2020! I'm still keeping the Wednesday posts until summer! Then in June, July and August I'll go back to Monday/Friday and return to Wednesday in September! I thoroughly enjoyed doing that this year and plan to do this more in the future! :) <3

Current Sims 4 Challenges-AS OF FEBRUARY 11, 2019

If you read my last post, hopefully you have because it's fairly short, I currently have four Sims 4 challenges going on at different levels of completeness: A to Z Legacy, Not So Berry Legacy, Rags to Riches and a save where we complete the Strangerville Mystery.

A to Z Legacy (also known as the Alphabet Legacy)
This has been my recent obsession. I'm currently between the 2nd and 3rd generations (B and C). Gen B is getting older (adults/elders) and my Gen C heirs are children. I am doing this differently than most. My Gen A and his wife had two children, so I will following both of their families. In the event of twins or triplets, I will do a poll on twitter to see who becomes heir. Whoever is NOT heir will be moved into another house (world will also be polled on Twitter).

Not So Berry Challenge
This one has been pretty difficult for me, mainly because I don't like having mean Sims. I'm still on Gen 1 (mint) but my Gen 2 (rose) is a toddler. I also don't own all of the Sims 4 packs (the list is in the previous post). This was founded by one of my favorite Sims 4 content creators, Kayla from lilsimsie, and her friend Zoe from alwayssimming!

Rags to Riches
I couldn't find a link to the actual rules, but James, aka the Sim Supply, explains it pretty well in part one of his Get to Work Rags to Riches LP. I recommend watching all of the Bigwallets because they are pretty entertaining. I'm currently on like part 19 of his Cats and Dogs LP. I am not doing any specific thing but my Sim mostly paints and finds harvestables around her home in Brindleton Bay.

*UPDATED AND ADDED 11-12-2020*
Strangerville
The newest (as of February 2019) Game Pack shows us the world of Strangerville, which is plagued by a Mother Plant. All around the world there are purple colored plants called Bizarre Plants. When their fruits are eaten, the Sim who eats them becomes Possessed and runs erratically for about two hours. Their needs are completely filled and they can start saying gibberish (more than normal Simlish). We will follow two Sims who will try to defeat the Mother Plant and return Strangerville to its original beauty.
