Rainbow Legacy Challenge BASE GAME RULES

Back in late 2019 I came up with a new challenge idea: the Rainbow Legacy Challenge. I started a save with it (honestly I'm on like gen 2/3 of it atm) and I really enjoy it so far. So I figured I'd share this fun legacy with the world! I'm working on a Base Game version over on my new YouTube Channel so Simmers who don't have a lot of DLC can do the challenge as well :) tomorrow I'll be posting the rules with DLC. I'll be adding which DLC you need for each generation. If you don't have the necessary DLC for a generation, feel free to switch it with the Base Game edition :)

General Rules:

  • Create ONE Sim (gender doesn’t matter) and make them a young adult

  • Create A Sim stories are not to be used with any Sims in the Legacy, but can be used for townies you create/have created

  • Your Sims can have any skin tone, eye color, hair color, etc. but their overall color scheme must be that of the generation they represent.

  • No using money cheats (except Free Real Estate)

  • Mods and CC are allowed as long as it doesn’t mess with the Sims’ careers, traits or money

  • You may choose whichever branch of that generation’s career you wish

  • All heirs must mate with a game-generated townie (ex. Johnny Zest, Don Lothario, Liberty Lee, Summer Holiday, etc.)

  • Sims can have as many children as they wish, but only one can be heir

  • If you choose to keep the other children in the household, you are able to (but they cannot have kids of their own)

  • Aging for the household must be ON (inactive household aging can be off or on)

  • Sims can live in whatever world/lot they wish

  • Sims can move but only once per generation

  • You may travel to work with your Sim if you have an active career

  • When you complete the generation’s Aspiration, you may choose another of your liking.

  • The main objective for each generation is max their three given skills, their career and finish their aspiration.

  • You may open a retail store, veterinarian office, restaurant, etc. if it goes with that generation’s skills, aspiration or career.

GENERATION 1: PINK
Traits: Good, Romantic, Bookworm (can also use Active in place of Romantic or Bookworm)
Career: Athlete
Skills: Fitness, Logic, Gardening (if you have Spa Day, Wellness can be a bonus)
Aspiration: Fabulously Wealthy
This Sim has always been infatuated with the lifestyles of the rich and famous, and even more so when their parents signed them up for military school as a teen. Their hopeless romantic dreams have stayed with them, but so has a newly found love for fitness and logic. They dream of being a Professional Athlete/Bodybuilder with a huge mansion and hope their legacy will live on forever.

GENERATION 2: RED
Traits: Foodie, Cheerful, Materialistic
Career: Culinary
Skills: Baking, Cooking, Gourmet Cooking
Aspiration: Master Chef
This Sim has always loved food. They love everything about it, from the wild plants they see growing in the bushes to the exquisite dishes they see on TV. They want to learn as much about food as they possibly can, then maybe more. They also want to fulfill their parent’s dream of having the largest and most expensive house Sims have ever seen. They hope to pass the Goth and Landgraab families in terms of wealth and property value.

GENERATION 3: ORANGE

Traits: Genius, Unflirty, Outgoing

Career: Astronaut

Skills: Logic, Rocket Science, Handiness

Aspiration: Nerd Brain

Ever since this Sim watched a Solar Eclipse as a kid, they wanted to explore space. They love anything scientific and galaxy-themed and want to show the world what is truly out there. Romance and furthering the family legacy took the back burner until it was almost too late to have kids. Even well advanced in age, this Sim becomes the greatest Astronaut and parent the world has seen.

GENERATION 4: YELLOW (having a spouse in the Secret Agent (or Detective if you have Get to Work-career would be great in this generation!)

Traits: Evil, Ambitious, Glutton

Career: Criminal

Skills: Mischief

Aspiration: Enemy of the World

This Sim’s parents were far too career oriented to pay even the slightest bit of attention to them unless it was a dire emergency. This Sim is borderline obsessed with how the greatest crimes were committed and hope to be alongside those who are wanted but never captured. At least they hope to never be captured. When they fall in love with someone on the other side of the law, things could potentially change.

Generation 5: GREEN

Traits: Geek, Self Assured, Kleptomaniac

Career: Tech Guru

Skills: Video Games, Charisma, Mischief

Aspiration: Nerd Brain

This Sim has been a gamer since they could hold a tablet. Their ultimate dream is to develop the next great game, however their mischievous side always got in the way of their goals to create a peaceful, calming game. But when their mischievous and geeky sides collide, the best things happen to them. Will they create the next big game franchise or become the best E-Sports player the world will ever know? The choice is yours!

Generation 6: TEAL

Traits: Creative, Art Lover, Clumsy

Career: Writer

Skills: Writing, Painting, Mixology

Aspiration:

This Sim has always seen the world from an artist's perspective. They are full of stories about anything from the trees to the snow and even the wild plants that pop up. Whether they're true or not is up to the Sim that they're talking to. Between their painting and writing skills, they hope to make a name for themselves by being a one Sim show. Their works could easily make the big screen if they would put themselves out there. Their biggest hobby outside of work is making all the coolest drinks and even some original ones too.

Generation 7: BLUE

Traits: Bro, Perfectionist, Active

Career: Secret Agent

Skills: Fitness, Programming, Logic

Aspiration: Successful Lineage

This Sim has always been sickened by their great-grandparent's evil habits. Determined to take as much crime off the streets as they can, they vow to be the best Agent Sims have ever met. When they’re not saving the world or training the next generation of agents, they love perfecting their chess game. Chess has always been a passion of theirs and it shows through the many tournaments they win. Above everything is their family. From a very young age, family has always been their top priority. Having a large and thriving family has always been their goal for life.

Generation 8: PURPLE

Traits: Music Lover, Goofball, Slob

Career: Entertainer

Skills: Comedy, Guitar, Piano

Aspiration: Musical Genius

This Sim has always known how to cheer up Sims who are feeling anything but happy. With their love of the arts, they’re determined to make Sims laugh, cry and everything in between. Any negative feelings they've ever experienced were taken away by just a few minutes of watching their favorite comedy acts and/or artists sing live. Their belief is the arts can cure everything from a bad day to the most unfortunate events.

Generation 9: WHITE

Traits: Gloomy, Self Assured, Ambitious

Career: Business

Skills: Charisma, Programming, Handiness

Aspiration: Mansion Baron

Ever since their childhood best friend got sick and passed away, this Sim has wanted to find a cure for all Sim diseases. They don’t want anyone else to suffer like they had. They want to use their fortune to fund as many non-profits as possible and even start their own. Their business mindset gives them the confidence and skill to get everything they need. Following in their parents’ footsteps in making a difference, this Sim took it one step further and got directly in line to make it happen. The downside of them working so much is their cleanliness is almost rock bottom.

Generation 10: BLACK

Traits: Loves Outdoors, Bookworm, Erratic

Career: Freelancer - Writer Branch

Skills: Writing, Photography, Gardening

Aspiration: Bestselling Author

This Sim has loved writing short stories for as long as they can remember. In school Simlish was always their favorite class because they got to share their stories with the teacher and even the class. They have a thousand characters and a million storylines in their head at all times, and as they’ve gotten older it’s gotten easier to write many different things, such as novels, magazine/newspaper articles, poems, etc. When they aren't looking for the inspiration for their next big project, this Sim loves writing blog posts and things about gardens and everything Gardening related.

It's Been Quite A While...Brief Update

It's been a few months since I've posted here and I deeply apologize. In late February I started a new full-time job and between that and streaming, I've been super busy. I haven't had much time to play Sims for the blog. Hopefully soon I'll have some more time to play since I'm definitely in a busy and productive season. I have a few exciting things coming up in the coming weeks so feel free to follow me on Twitch to keep up to date! I stream 5 nights/evenings a week (2 Sims, 2 Minecraft, 1 American Truck Simulator) :) I try not to play my blog saves so I don't miss anything, but I'm sure the Sims are doing great and miss you as much as you miss them! Thank you all so much for following the storylines of these lovely Sims! I really appreciate all the support <3

Rags to Riches Mansion Baron Part Nineteen

Welcome back to Brindleton Bay! On our last visit, Lilly ran away (and came back a couple Sim days later) and Camila finished the Painter Extraordinaire Aspiration! She's now working on the Bodybuilder Aspiration as well as Mansion Baron. Annika also invited her to a party, which is where we left off.

Camila was exhausted after the party and proceeded to pass out on the living room floor.

When Camila woke up, she made a wish for more Simoleons. She glitched a little in the process. You good there, Camila?

The well was in her favor because she gained Simoleons. I forget how much but it was at least a couple hundred. The face on the well is a tell of whether or not your Sim will get their wish.

Camila has a good idea for new decor that may be expensive, so Camila is harvesting her flowers. I'm still getting the glitch where some of the plants go back to just being seeds. I get it in all my saves despite being sheltered in a greenhouse.

The stereo in the living room was broken, so Camila went to work fixing it. When she masters Handiness, we'll venture to the hidden lot in Oasis Springs :)

On our last visit, I shared the newly renovated basement. Camila is making a candle in it. I love the hexagon flooring from Eco Lifestyle.

The kitties followed her to the basement. They love having new areas to explore and new things to check out.

Camila is rummaging through the trash to get things to recycle. That way she can make more candles and hone her Fabrication skill.

The next step was recycling the trash piles in the recycler. This also summons Knox Greenberg from Evergreen Harbor. I think that's a bit of a trek for recycling things.

Yard sale time! Camila wants to sell the juices and candles she makes for a profit, and this was the best choice.

Kitty decided to follow Camila outside while she was tending the table. All she wanted was pets and a treat.

And another thing broke, but this time it's one of the robot vacuums. It makes me laugh any time I see a cat on one of these.

I called it! Here is Knox wanting to use Camila's recycler. He does have one at home, but insists on using everyone else's.

Lilly and Shadow are in a bit of a hissing match. Shadow really must be anti-social because she's been hissing at other cats since Chester was adopted. Either way, she's a lovable cat and isn't going anywhere.

Aww, Lilly and Kitty are playing on the counters! It's an interesting place to play, but Camila keeps the counters really clean and is unbothered.

Every now and then, Camila opens a present from the present lot. I forget what she got but she was pretty happy with it.

That wraps up today's trip to Brindleton Bay! Camila's home is now worth 305,000 Simoleons! I think she'll finish the aspiration in the next couple months then we can move on to her new adventure! Any ideas for what she should do next? Let me know!

Evergreen Harbor Part Four

Last time we visited Aldo and Harmony, Aldo passed out on the bathroom floor of the bar in Willow Creek. He was already exhausted, but couldn't say no when Bella Goth invited him out. We've also been taking advantage of Harmony's no need decay and have been working on her skills almost 24 hours a day.

Harmony's Fabrication skill is increasing nicely. She can now make molded candles and she even made the tables in the reading corner!

Upstairs, Aldo is listening to Bess' "Business" plan and goes to invest 1000 Simoleons into it. He sees a lot of potential in her.

Andrea and Knox came over to chat for a bit. Harmony greeted them outside when she finished her candle. I don't know why they use this door rather than the actual front door. Sims are weird.

Bess and Aldo are still chatting about life things.

Harmony was trying to make a table lamp when the machine malfunctioned and spilled dye all over her. Fortunately she's a ghost and it won't effect her as much as other Sims.

Harmony is now level 9 in Painting! She's painting a bowl of fruit. Since I took some time away from Harmony while she was a ghost, she's not as advanced in her skills as Aldo is.

While Aldo was at work the next day, Harmony was invited to Knox's house. She met Blossom and Mary, who are his mothers. They seem nice.

When Aldo got home from work, he started talking with Harmony.

This went from 0 to 100 real quick! Aldo's feelings for Harmony haven't gone away, and it shows! Here they are having their first kiss!

Aldo took things outside, where he's serenading Harmony. His Guitar skill isn't that great, but he's trying and she's flattered.

They're hyped up for some...DUMPSTER WOOHOO?! Yes, Harmony and Aldo woohooed in the dumpster. Twice to be exact. Aldo did serenade Harmony after this woohoo as well (the first one was also post-dumpster woohoo).

It's Spooky Day, so after round 2, Harmony dressed as Princess Leia and Aldo dressed up as Boba Fett. They love Star Wars! I wish there was an option to watch the movies on your Sims' TV.

KATRINA! Katrina Caliente is taking a jog through Port Promise. Apparently she really likes the changes that have been made.

Aldo had some recyclables from his dumpster woohoo with Harmony, so he's recycling them. That way he and Harmony can Fabricate more things and make some awesome candles.

After the dumpster woohoo, I built a mini "woohoo dungeon" (I streamed this in my Discord server and the top suggestion was a woohoo dungeon). Aldo is taking advantage of the solitude by skinny dipping in the hot tub.

Katrina stopped by for a post-workout chat. Harmony likes her, so she's been getting to know her better. Katrina is a nice townie.

That will wrap up today's trip to Evergreen Harbor! Below I have some screenshots of Port Promise after the Green Initiatives Plan was enacted. It's beautiful! Just because I feel like it, here are some beautiful pictures of Port Promise :) It's a cloudy fall day
